AMS: Availability Messaging System
AMS is an Android app designed exclusively for members of Fire and Emergency New Zealand. This app allows real-time tracking of volunteers' availability to respond to emergencies. With the background location tracking feature, AMS can identify the location of the volunteers, even when the app is closed or not in use. However, users can disable the feature at any time through the status tab of the app. AMS provides several features to make emergency response easier, such as automatically mapping incident locations, indicating the response to an incident, in-brigade messaging, and threshold alerts for brigades and incidents. Additionally, the app enables scheduling of availability.
AMS is a free app that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Fire and Emergency NZ has provided a privacy policy for AMS, which can be found on their website.
